Buck E. Thompson: Personal Bio

Mr. Thompson is a 13 generation Floridian and is a descendant of one of Florida’s first and most historic families, The Canova’s who came to Florida from Minorca, Spain in 1768 and helped establish and build the Colony of New Smyrna before eventually migrating north to St. Augustine. Since that time, his family has been involved with the construction and development of the State of Florida in every aspect from Marine Construction, Site and Land Development, Agriculture and even as a developer providing land to Henry Flagler to build Hotel Ponce De Leon, now Known as Flagler College.

Mr. Thompson was born and raised in Polk County Florida where he got his start in Pipeline fabrication working for his family’s Pipe distributing company at the age of 16. He left Florida in 1992 to join the United States Marine Corps in which he served in the Infantry in a Special Operation (SOC) unit until his End of Active Service in 2001. Upon graduating from college and becoming a Certified Commercial Diver, Mr. Thompson went on to work in the Oil Industry constructing Deep-Sea Oil pipelines and Platforms in S. Africa and the Gulf of Mexico.

In, 2008, after working in every aspect of Marine and Underwater Construction, Mr. Thompson relocated back to Florida where he earned his Certified General Contractor’s license along with his Certified Pollutant Storage Systems Contractor’s License and has been performing safe and reliable underwater and marine construction services through-out the South East United States and Caribbean. Since 2008, Mr. Thompson, along with his professional staff, have logged over 20,000 hours of underwater construction and inspection services with Zero loss.
